Within this book, Makaila Smith-Watkins, a former member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority (AKA), shares her born-again testimony, a deep examination of the initiation rituals and ceremonies of AKA, and the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ.

Meet The Author
Makaila Smith-Watkins was born-again and began her walk in Christ in August of 2019. She received a Bachelor’s of Arts in Communication with a minor in Cognitive Science from Michigan State University. Throughout her professional career, Makaila has held various leadership positions working with youth and adults with developmental disorders. Makaila additionally serves as a volunteer for Shiloh Christian Academy in Stockbridge, Georgia, is a certified event planner, and enjoys a plethora of crafting and visual art activities as well. Makaila is wife to Raymond Smith-Watkins and together they serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
She became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority in 2016 and through a conviction from God by the Holy Spirit and Word of God, renounced and denounced her membership in October of 2019. Years later, she was led to write Love The Lord Thy God as a tool to point others toward the Word of God to come to the knowledge of truth in regards to Alpha Kappa Alpha, other sororities, and Black Greek Letter Organizations (BGLOs), and as an aid to support one’s individual walk with Jesus Christ. Love The Lord Thy God is Makaila’s first published written work.
Makaila’s aim is to continue in ministering the gospel of Jesus Christ all over the world and helping others grow and develop in faith. She hopes this piece will help many women and people seek a sincere relationship with Jesus Christ and leave the idolatry of “Greek life” and secret societies behind.
